Sealy and Company, Inc.'s founding entity
was Sealy Realty Company, Inc. and was formed by J. Pollard Sealy, Sr. in
1945. Initially, the company's primary activity was the subdivision of land
and the sale of lots for residential development. J. Pollard Sealy, Jr.
(pictured left) joined his father in the business and in the 1950's branched
into general real estate brokerage, appraisals, and third-party property
management.
Scott P. Sealy (pictured below right) joined his father after graduating from
Southern Methodist University, majoring in Real Estate, and they formed
the partnership Sealy and Company. Their primary efforts were devoted
to acquiring and managing industrial properties. Continuing to acquire investment
properties, they expanded into the major markets in the South. Through the
years, they established close working relationships with many of this region's
major developers. Scott Sealy became a member of the Society
of Industrial and Office Realtors in November 1980.
Mark P. Sealy (pictured on left) joined
the company in 1981 after receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Real
Estate and Construction from the University of Denver. With Mark Sealy's
direction and proficiency with computer systems, the company began its development
of effective and resourceful management systems. Mark Sealy has centered
his efforts on asset management, financing and underwriting acquisitions
of retail, industrial, office and service center projects.
Since Scott and Mark Sealy joined the firm, the company
has acquired over 10-million square-feet of property through investment
partnerships. In 1987, the Company was incorporated and renamed Sealy
and Company, Inc.
