The Position:
We are currently seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join our Shreveport-based team at Sealy & Company. This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to exercise their accounting skills with one of the best and fastest growing companies in Industrial Real Estate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary focus of the position will be financial reporting for commercial real estate portfolios. This position has the responsibility of accounting functions such as drafting the annual audited financial statements, accounts payable, budgeting, preparing reconciliations, budget variance analysis, expense accruals, and other financial reporting tasks. In addition, this position requires the ability to navigate issues of a more complex nature such as partnership taxable gains/losses, 1031 deferred gains, GAAP purchase allocations, debt covenants, and share valuation.
Qualifications:
- Good writing and presentation skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of financial statement reporting.
- Basic understanding of partnership tax accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (primarily Excel).
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with individuals outside the accounting profession and tailor communication accordingly
